Falling into Fall
The weather has suddenly decided it’s time to shift seasons. So in a few days and after a few storms, it went from loose clothing hot weather to sweater and light jacket crisp.
Just a Couple Numbers
It’s somehow nearing the end of August. I don’t understand time anymore, but it’s passed and I have a few bench marks to show for it.
Full Swing Summer
Benching a dozen blue whales! And mini adventures under my own power. :)
And the Winner Is…
My German studies and self-integration into northern German culture!
Solstice Thoughts & Blog Expansion
The longest day of the year has stretched the sunlight as far as it’ll go this year. The days and heat of summer lay ahead as the days slowly shorten. While daylight may have peaked, I’m just digging in.
Hi, June. You're looking sunny.
June is halfway through the year. It’s the start of summer. It’s my quarter mark for this fitness project. Things are looking bright.
Hey It’s May!
I’ve been behind on all sorts of things, updating the blog one of the most obvious. So here’s a late May reflection of April and the month so far. As summer races in, where am I and where am I going?
PR Punch
It’s been a week since I updated my stats, and the numbers revealed some personal records. The fatigue is real, but so are the results, if the spreadsheet isn’t pulling my leg.
Fitness Fashion
Athletic wear a huge area of fashion. I’m not usually that into fashion, often oblivious to trends and finding whatever’s hot-to-trot just odd. But I care about what I wear when I work out. I form a special bond with the articles I make stink.
Amp Yourself Up!
Work out music is its own genre. It gives you a beat to push yourself too. It’s motivation, it’s external energy. I played around with making my own workout theme song, because why not?
March into April, Fool!
March is over and I think it trampled me and left me blinking up at the sky wondering what happened.
I Hit It!
A major milestone happened today. I’m now a kilogram millionaire.
5 Whales, Triple Me, and a Pleasing So Close
I wasn’t going to write today, but updating my lifting numbers revealed some PRs I’m deciding to share.
Pinky Toe Problem
I have some structural damage left over from the onset of my chronic joint issues. I’ve been working for nearly two decades to build back and undo the parts of the damage that aren’t permanent. One sticky body part has led to a personal phrase: “It’s a pinky toe problem.” Allow me to elaborate.
Something is Better Than Nothing
So the adage goes. So with negative energy in the body account, I went and lifted on the first and worst day of my period. Folks, this quick quip is all real-deal girl gripe. Only read if blood doesn’t make you queasy.
To Go or Not To Go?
That is the question, usually on the weekend. Do I sleep in and have a slow morning or catch the first wave of weekend warriors at the studio? Am I even able to do the first option? Do I want the second?
More Milestones!
Say what? How’d that happen?
I hit 50!
Training sessions that is.
The Grind or Behind?
March is underway and my training is marching forward, but starting the second full week of the month, I’m seeing flatter lines on my weights and feeling flatter from my workouts. My motivation’s stalled. Have I hit the meh of the grind or am I hitting a plateau (or dip)?
March-ing Forward: February Review
I can’t believe we’ve started March. Happy first everyone. This February was a leap year and my extra day gave me an extra leap of progress. My February was full of wins and struggles. March will be a full embrace of the growing days and warming weather. Here’s a quick reflection. Let’s see how I look.
